My Shadow is Purple

My Shadow is Purple

Author: Scott Stuart

I want to start by saying that the parents in this book are amazingly supportive of their nonbinary child. The child in this book is getting ready to go to the school dance. Their parents work together to create an outfit that suits them best. The problem is when they get to the dance the children are separated by 2 genders, boys and girls, pink and blue. They don’t know where they fit in. Some of the children explain to the main character that they also don’t define themselves as pink or blue. There are so many shades of gender.
