Written and illustrated by: Lynley Dodd.
It’s Christmas in Slinky Malinki’s house and the rapscallion, mischievous cat is most curious about the Christmas tree. With its reindeer, ribbons, baubles and bells, it’s too tempting a treat for Slinky not to investigate. So Slinky Malinki, with mischievous glee, creeps out from the shadows to climb up the tree.
This book has resulted in a couple of board books, and counting books. Because, Slinky Malinki is fabulous. Dame Lynley Dodd’s rhymes and illustrations are so assured, and fine-tuned, after decades of penning and illustrating the Hairy Maclary and friends books. I have a copy of this in my personal Christmas book collection. And an old and battered withdrawn copy in my work collection.
