Yep, masks are just part of life right now. This easy going little song reminds kids to keep each other safe by wearing a mask. When mask-wearing days are over, you can use the mask as a cap and easily change the words of this original preschool song 🙂
Lyrics: (Sing to the tune of “Five Little Ducks”)
Five little friends are going outside (hold up five fingers)
Maybe for a walk, or maybe for a ride. (walk your fingers, hold a steering wheel)
This little friend likes to run and explore, (pump arms as if running, put hand to forehead)
He puts on his mask…and now there are four. (cover your mouth and nose, hide one finger behind back, then show only four fingers)
(Using the felt board: put the mask on one child, and then remove child from the board)
Repeat movements for lines 1,2, and 4 for the rest of the song.
Four little friends …
This little friend wants to climb a tree (climbing motions)
Three little friends ….
This little friend likes to climb and run too, (climbing and running motions)
Two little friends …
This little friend likes to walk in the sun. (walk your fingers, put face up to sun)
This little friend is going outside
Maybe for a walk, or maybe for a ride.
This little friend likes to play superhero. (flying motion)
She puts on her mask, and now there are zero.
