Meet Calvin! He is a transgender boy with an extremely supportive family. In this book Calvin explains to his family that he is not a girl. They explain this to the rest of the family and Calvin’s school. After the summer vacation, Calvin is very nervous about the new school year. He is very happy to find that the teacher and his friends already know his name and welcome him as Calvin.

I really like that Calvin’s dead name is never mentioned. This art is beautiful and full of diversity too! Calvin is also multiracial.
