“It’s estimated that by the time a child with behavioral struggles reaches 10 they may have heard nearly 20,000 negative comments in school alone. While these are well intended, meant to be corrective, they can greatly impact a child’s sense of self-worth and motivation” from Notes section of MY WANDERING DREAMING MIND.
This is a sweet story about a child who struggles with issues involving paying attention. It is not mentioned if they are diagnosed but the qualities they deal with are commonly associated with ADHD, hyperactivity, emotional dysregulation and in impulse control situations. The book shows examples of how their focus issues effect their self-esteem and daily life. The parents in this book are supportive and completely understanding to them.
