Olivia Wrapped in Vines

Olivia Wrapped in Vines

Olivia Wrapped in Vines book cover.

Written by: Maude Nepveu-Villeneuve.

Translated by: Charles Simard.

Illustrated by: Sandra Dumais.

Originally published in French, this is a book about a girl, Olivia, that suffers from anxiety. Her anxiety is described as vines that wrap around her and make it hard for her to focus and get through the school day. These vines cause Olivia to have irrational thoughts about people being angry at her and hold her back from having fun. I like how this book clearly states what may cause anxiety such as fears, lateness or nothing at all. With the support of her teacher, she is begins to learn how to cut the vines.
