The story commemorates both the momentous speech made by the Prime Minister of Australia to say sorry to the indigenous people for past abuse and to also recognise the decades of abuse suffered by the Stolen Generation. Dub Leffler is descended from the Bigambul and Mandandanji people of southwest Queensland as well as being of French, Syrian and Irish heritage.

Born in Sydney Australia, Coral spent her early years in Bangladesh. She has also lived in Queensland, Japan and currently resides by the beach in Melbourne, Victoria with her husband and four children.
