Stonewall: A Building. An Uprising. A Revolution

Stonewall: A Building. An Uprising. A Revolution

Written by: Rob Sanders.

Illustrated by: Jamey Christoph.

Spoken in the voice of the building, that is the Stonewall Inn, this is the history from when it was built in Greenwich Village, became Bonnie’s Stone Wall restaurant, stood through a revolution and today. Stonewall was always “a place where you could be yourself and where being different was welcomed and accepted” (words taken from book).

This picture book explains, in terms anyone can understand, what happened when people less accepting came to arrest and hurt the people of the Village and how the community stood up for itself.
