In Aotearoa, Boxing Day is also a public holiday. There is also a tradition of The Boxing Day Test, ie the cricket test held at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground), and played between Australia and the visiting international side. And, Boxing Day — as well as January 2nd — are public holidays in Aotearoa and Australia.
