The author of this book lives with D.I.D. (in the past called multiple personality disorder). This book is written at a young elementary school level. The parts of the quilt represent her alters. (Alters refer to the fragmented personality states). For someone who doesn’t live with this disorder this book might not make sense. It would need to be explained for better understanding. The last page of the book explains D.I.D. in better detail. I do recommend this book for children learning about their own D.I.D.
