The Rabbit Listened

Cover image of The rabbit listened.

Written and illustrated by: Cori Doerrfeld.

This is a simply worded story that presents the importance of listening to before reacting to someone going through trauma. This book presents a child, Taylor, who is traumatized by their block house getting destroyed.  The blocks are meant to be a metaphor for a tragedy. All the animals are trying to help the child but only the rabbit takes the time to listen. The child’s gender is never revealed to the reader.
