This is a picture book is about the racism that a Black child that is coming of age might face in daily life. It is a very tough read so should be read by a parent before presenting to a child.
The book starts off showing the life a small child who is part of a very loving family. As the child grows, their parents become aware that they are beginning to look like an adult and worry they will be subjected to stereotypes and racism. The parents explain scenarios, to the child, where they may be treated unfairly and cruelly.
