We don't eat our classmates book cover.

Penelope the dinosaur starts school, but it’s hard to make friends when her classmates are so delicious!

It’s the first day of school for Penelope Rex, and she can’t wait to meet her classmates. But it’s hard to make human friends when they’re so darn delicious! That is, until Penelope gets a taste of her own medicine and finds she may not be at the top of the food chain after all… (From GoodReads.)

Penelope Rex is the only young dinosaur in a classroom full of human children. When the school year begins, she keeps eating her classmates “because children are delicious.” (Don’t worry, she always spits them out again.) After getting her own finger chomped by the class goldfish, she learns to put herself in others’ shoes and to do unto others as she’d like done to herself. This is another book showcasing a diverse group of kids with varying skin tones and religious garb, and it skillfully uses humor to teach a helpful lesson about social skills.
