We Want to go to School: The Fight for Disability Rights

This nonfiction picture book tells the story of a community who fought for change for their children. The book explains how disabled children were treated in the public school education system before this fight was won in the 1970’s and how improvements still need to be made. The fight is not over until all children are treated equally! This book is written for elementary age children but any age we will benefit for the lesson it teaches. It is very reader friendly and uses speech bubbles with in the text.
